Qualicom Development Methodology (QDM)

At Qualicom, we manage all projects according to the Qualicom Development Methodology (QDM). This step-by-step framework was developed using our years of experience implementing large-scale, multi-million dollar, multi-site IT applications for a wide variety of companies, as well as working closely with major software vendors around the world.

We developed the QDM when we found that many of the frameworks used to implement IT projects were not detailed enough to produce successful IT projects. The QDM goes further by providing additional detail and emphasizing the following areas:

  1. Requirement gathering
Qualicom emphasizes working closely with users to develop a comprehensive list of requirements, and to clearly document it. This helps determine the success of projects later on.
  2. Planning
After gathering user requirements, Qualicom consultants set to work on planning the architecture of the system. The QDM divides the architecture into four main areas:
    • Business architecture - describes how the business works and how it relates with other organizations, internally and externally.
    • Application architecture - focuses on the plan for the application itself, defining the components, standards, software technology, interfaces and other factors central to creating a successful system.
    • Information architecture - defines how the information to be used in the system is interrelated, located, and distributed within the databases.
    • Technology architecture - defines the communication and network infrastructure, hardware platforms and operating systems for the solution.
  3. Building
Qualicom developers use the information generated during the requirements gathering and planning stages to divide and assign the tasks necessary to build the initial version of the system. During this process, they work closely with management and the users of the system.
  4. Testing
Once the initial version of the system is ready, it is tested rigorously by developers and users to ensure accuracy. Any discrepancies identified are rectified at this stage.
  5. Implementation
Once all user expectations have been met, the system is ready to be implemented. Qualicom staff will be on site to make sure the implementation goes smoothly and to provide any support needed, 24 hours a day.

Unless our clients prefer to use their own framework, we use the QDM as a guide during the execution of any project. This ensures that a top-quality project is developed and implemented in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
